Impoverished Nations Get Zune

Woot has now offered the Zune through its one day, one item online shopping innovation for a third time at unprecedented prices. Each time, the unit has dropped in price considerably. Today, I see that the device is available for a mere $104.99 including shipping. There is absolutely no reason…Continue Reading

intacard Looks Like Bad Business

If you’re looking around for an AllofMp3.com replacement, you’ve probably happened across MP3fiesta.com. At first glance, it looks like a good thing. Reading into some of the reviews will give you more hope that MP3fiesta is what we were looking for after the fall of AoM. However, upon a true…Continue Reading

DiY PC: Antec Nine Hundred (Case)

I’m in the process of building out a new custom PC for the house – the first one in quite a while now. Contrary to what you might think, as a technology guy I’m usually a little late for getting things up-to-date around the house. As such, I’m replacing an…Continue Reading

Charter Communications: “Value of Services”

“Effective with your March billing statement, price adjustments will be made to…reflect the overall value of our services” Part of the value of services they’re talking about is snowy reception on select digital channels (how is this even possible) and the very real possibility that the digital provisions offered like…Continue Reading

Dan Zanes

Dan Zanes is my new favorite artist. His musical philosophy parallels my own and a CD can move through a bevy of instruments, styles, and nationalities. I have one of his later CD’s, “Catch that Train!” I’m actually not exactly sure if I truly own the CD because I purchased…Continue Reading

Media Management

Out of the 10,583 images I have in my collection of images at home, I finally got around to organizing the most important 2,911 of them. That’s inclusive of family of friends, exclusively. I fear that the remaining 7,672 images must contain family and friends’ pictures that I’m missing. Alas,…Continue Reading

Monster House, A Review

We took Balthazar to see “Monster House” this past weekend. He really enjoys watching movies, so when there’s something appropriate on for his attention span, we love to take him. This time was a little different. He’s been watching the previews on TV and specifically requested “Monster House.” We were…Continue Reading

How I Work

The longest amount of time spent, and time I am unable to account for, is research. Depending on the topic, I may spend a week pouring through as many references I can find on a particular subject to get a real good feel for the information. If I don’t require reference material as I write, it goes much quicker.

In Gaming News

The Bungie team is making headway on their project to create Halo, the movie. To make an awesome start, they got Peter Jackson to direct produce the film. They also have WETA doing their digital work and weapons/armor. I’m thrilled that they’ve made such great moves towards the success of…Continue Reading

Mr. Coffee is Mr. Wrong

I have some quality concerns around my $20.00 Mr. Coffee 4-cup brewer. In a weekend, the time has slipped five minutes. In the course of the day so far, the time is already a minute or more off. In this day and age of digital bliss, I sort of take…Continue Reading
