I call it Thunderhead, though I have yet to unleash upon it to confirm its namesake. It was midnight this Sunday morning when I finally got to beat the old goat skin into the night air. I played some variations on Saidi and Masmoudi to get a feel for the resonance and response on this new drum.

Gävlebocken (The Gävle Goat)
In a small city north of Stockholm, 5,000 onlookers welcome a giant Goat as it is unveiled each year around Yule. For several decades now, the Gävle Goat has made a historical mark in Gävle history as it is either sacrificed or spared during the Winter. In 1969 the goat was burned on New Year’s… Continue reading Gävlebocken (The Gävle Goat)
At the local dumpster facility, there’s a little house adjacent the compacter where, as Amy points out, there lives a little Trash Troll. Drunken Goat Cheese
In what could very well be a new *thing*, I’ve indulged in a new cheese never before known to my palate. It was Isi’s (soon to have a linkable blog) inspiration that got me to do this. She had expected there to be a lot of hooey, though as she admits now,… Continue reading I’ve Always Wanted to be…a Lumberjack!
The Epitome of Disgusting Males
We traveled out to my mom’s place, Dancing Goat’s Farm, for the day. There we visited with her and my grandmother and her sister. They’re “refugees of Hurricane Ivan” as Gwen (my grand aunt) put it. At any rate, my mom enlightened us to the behavior of a male goat with a field of female… Continue reading The Epitome of Disgusting Males
Child Pimp and Ho Costumes
This is probably one of the more unsettling things I’ve seen lately (with the exception of goatse, of course). A friend of mine, Ron, pointed the site out to me. I’m sort of wondering why he was shopping here, but to each his own. I have an idea of who would be buying these costumes… Continue reading Child Pimp and Ho Costumes
