Lennart Green Magic Amazes TEDrs
Lennart Green, the foremost close-up card magician of the world, dazzled the audience of TED 2005. I caught the video today on my Zune and was thrilled. His show is very entertaining, quick witted, and his foreignness is close to my heart (Green is from Gothenburg, Sweden). The TED video is around 30 minutes of… Continue reading Lennart Green Magic Amazes TEDrs
Where’s “My” Community?
I am imagining a better WordPress. For those of you who don’t know, it’s the engine behind Gradin.com, as well as countless other blogs on the Interweb. I have been using WordPress for several years now and I really enjoy it. Its many features have grown, and grown on me. Now that I am expectant… Continue reading Where’s “My” Community?
WordPress 2.3 Update
I’ve just successfully completed my WordPress 2.3 update. As far as WordPress updates go, this was a pretty big one. So big, in fact, that I actually followed the instructions and disabled (most) of my plugins to be sure the site worked after the update. I knew however, that disabling my plugins would just leave… Continue reading WordPress 2.3 Update
WP Plugin: Notify on Draft Post
I contribute to a few other blogs out there as I’m able, all of which are WordPress-based like this one. A seemingly simple function has been lacking in my mind, and the community seems to agree with me. But for some unknown reason, the answer has not been produced until now. My first WordPress plugin,… Continue reading WP Plugin: Notify on Draft Post
Spontaneous Glitches
As I was working on my post for Disney World just now, my site encountered a spontaneous glitch. As such, I’ve had to stop writing for now and work on the problem at hand. The result of the problem is that I no longer seem to be able to use PHP sessions. Something I’ve always… Continue reading Spontaneous Glitches
Tag Problems in WP 2.1
Blast! I thought I had read that tag problems weren’t being seen using Bunny’s Technorati Tag plugin. That’s what I’m using (in lieu of the Ultimate Tag Warrior) and I’m having problems with tags. I’ll research this tonight to find out what’s going on. It’s going to suck if all my tags have been eradicated.
Pictures are Back Online
Nobody bothered to tell me my pictures weren’t being displayed on the site any longer! You people are sleeping on the job! The problem is, I rely on Flickr’s API to show pictures here. As is clearly stated in their documentation, the API is subject to change…often. And I’m using some old WordPress plugin for… Continue reading Pictures are Back Online
Optimal for OPML
I discovered Optimal while looking for ways to render OPML as HTML. OPML, for my purpose and many of those reading this, is what RSS is to data, for RSS. That is, an OPML outline describes a list of feeds, each of which consist of an RSS feed for another site, which represents a collection… Continue reading Optimal for OPML
Still Waiting for Adobe Reader to Load?
For all of you that have asked, here’s a link on how you make Adobe’s Reader 7.0 load faster: Jonathan Hardwick: How to make Adobe Reader 7.0 load faster He’s a done an excellent job of explaining the process, but I’ll summarize for you here. Adobe Reader 7.0 Optimizer Edit –> Preferences General: Disable “Automatically… Continue reading Still Waiting for Adobe Reader to Load?
