CSS3 Revealed

WebStandards.org | W3C
CSS3 (Cascading Style Sheets v3) have shown up in the W3C’s repository of working drafts. It needs comments yet, but I like what I see so far. Rounded corners, for one, is a sure win for developers everywhere. Sure, anyone can draw rounded corner boxes on the web, but dynamically generated ones are far better. That’s four less graphics at a minimum that the browser has to download. As I’m a Firefox fan, let’s see when they begin supporting initial CSS3 specifications.

  1. That’s fantastic but the fact is that a majority percentage of the browsing public cannot even utilize CSSv2 today. It would be nice for the W3C to actually start enforcing some of the specs as standards so that content actually looks the same in all browsers rather than leaving the implementation up to the individual browser developers.

On a side note, you should visit http://csszengarden.com to see what people are doing with style sheets. It’s pretty kewl stuff.
